Mass Carnage
Ants have descended upon our apartment as if they were the 11th plague Moses just forgot to mention (I mean, to be fair, the ants could have happened during that whole darkness thing and he never would have noticed!) and our kitchen was Egypt. I tried to think of an appropriate historical instance of mass carnage to describe all of the tiny ant corpses covering our microwave— Beaches of Normandy? Holocaust? Pearl Harbor? Hiroshima? — and then I realized that all the instances of mass carnage I could quickly think of took place during World War II.
